For Fall Friday here's a shot of the Maroon Bells in Colorado.

For Fall Friday here's a shot of the Maroon Bells in Colorado. I'll be heading out tonight or tomorrow to pursue fall colors here in California's Sierra Nevada!

To explain the daily theme concept, one of today's theme is Fall Friday, so you can post a Fall colors shot, include the tag #FallFriday, and use the new search capability to find #fallfriday to discover other contributors and their shots as well.. A list of several themes per day to choose from can be found here on Eric Leslie's blog: http://ericleslie.com/guides/daily-photography-themes-googleplus/

I'm trying to get a "Selfless Sunday" tradition off the ground, where people can take the opportunity to share someone else's fine work.

  1. Sometimes I miss the mountains and the aspen. When we lived in Idaho there was a place we went every fall where the aspen turned gold with just a touch of pink, set against a backdrop of black basalt. (But my favorite favorite was the Rocky Mountain maples on the west side of the Yellowstone caldera.)

  2. Great shot Jeffrey Sullivan and love the unique angle you took to get the shot. Love the framing like Levi Moore said.

  4. Thanks everyone!
Levi Moore and Brett Halverson I couldn't believe that there were 125 people lined up for sunrise, but then almost everyone walked straight back to their cars! Another hundred people arrived, walked to the lake, then back to their cars. I've found that most viewpoint have a better (or at least unique) view less than 100 yards away, you just have to go for a short walk to find it..
Rachid Chourrane The place is called Maroon Bells, near the town of Aspen, Colorado.

I forgot to explain the daily theme concept to everyone. If you want a little more interaction, try the daily photo themes. One of today's theme is Fall Friday, so post a Fall colors shot, include the tag #FallFriday, and use the new search capability to find #fallfriday to discover other contributors and their shots as well.. I'm trying to get a "Selfless Sunday" tradition off the ground, where people can take the opportunity to present someone else's work at least once a week. (After all, this is supposed to be social networking, not self-promotional broadcasting, right? LOL)
Thanks to everyone who shared my photo, that's very kind and generous of you!
