Sharing is Caring, Especially Offline Moments (Photo credit: Derek Osborne  ) This is what it's all about.  One of the things I like best about photography is meeting up with other photographers and sharing amazing places and moments.  I've met other photographers dozens of times in the last 10 years, and shared whatever spot and/or event I was intending to shoot myself.  I co- led a Northern California photography Meetup group for several years, I met a lot of photographers through Flickr for years, I led a Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk, and for the last 4 years meeting other photographers and informing them of opportunities has become even easier using Circles on G+.  Since 2010 Lori Hibbett and I have been traveling around California and Nevada, meeting other photographers as we go.  We've lost track of the number of times we've met and made new friends on G+, easily more than a dozen times, maybe two or more. How Well Does the iPhone 6 Plus Camera Perform in Actual Use? The Journey of Landscape Photography and G+ I wore out my first copy of "Photographing Southwest, Volume 1 - A guide to the natural landmarks of Southern Utah" by Laurent Martres.  I loaded up my car and went on the road full time in September 2006, as my divorce started. Landscape photography, and that book, got me through a lot of rough times in the next few years.  Eventually I started a Mono Lake and Yosemite regional guide, contacted Laurent, and by coincidence he was looking for someone to write a book to cover my home turf through San Diego! It has been a massive undertaking covering that much ground, but an amazing experience. Most of the project has been accomplished while participating on Google+.  G+ has a unique ability to handle what I call "long form social media", so I can include more information with posts.  It also has the unique circle functionality so I can manage notifications and interaction by subject type, including geography.  Add in Events

A few quick questions Daniel Treadwell... 1. What are the ramifications of including or not including the canonical reference?  I understand that Google may want to "de-duplicate"  a G+ post from its identical blog mirror post, but if my blog becomes an aggregation point for my online content, as an author I would want the Google+ post to be the one demoted, not the post on my blog, where all traffic related to my content should aggregate. 2. Do you anticipate being able to use Google Analytics to properly measure traffic and engagement on G+ posts?  It's very nice to migrate comments to my Wordpress blog along with the post, but Google Analytics does not track or credit any of the views of the post on G+.  PR firms and brands use Google Analytics statistics to determine whether or not a blogger has influence, so the lack of statistics for either G+ or the same posts mirrored to a blog deeply degrades the value of activity and posts on G+.
