Sponsored Adventure Travel Blogging

Sponsored Adventure Travel Blogging Not only is the focus on travel different, but it appears that they'll help secure sponsors, unlike Kickstarter and Indiegogo. http://signup.trevolta.com/invite/LMCAX334182 #travel   #travelphotography   #blogging   Originally shared by Jeff Sullivan Crowdsourced Travel Funding?  Sign me up! This looks interesting, like Kickstarter, but specifically for travel.   Think a photographer friend or two of mine might be interested? Sign up to get informed when the Trevoltadotcom beta opens up:   http://signup.trevolta.com/invite/LMCAX334182 (I can't tell you how well it works yet, since I'm waiting to get in myself.) http://signup.trevolta.com/invite/LMCAX334182

Why Every Author Needs a Google+ Account

Why Every Author Needs a Google+ Account Points made in a blog post over on BookBaby.com : 1. YouTube comments may soon require Google+ accounts 2. Google Authorship requires Google+ 3. Keywords are going away In short, if you have a business which requires SEO, resistance is futile.  See the rest of the article on the BookBaby blog: http://blog.bookbaby.com/2013/10/why-every-author-needs-a-google-account http://blog.bookbaby.com/2013/10/why-every-author-needs-a-google-account

Orionid Meteor Shower

Orionid Meteor Shower   The Orionid meteor shower peaked last night. With the nearly-full moon in the sky I didn't shoot the Orionid meteor shower this year, but here's my time-lapse footage from several nights of shooting it last year: http://vimeo.com/jeffsullivan/orionid-meteor-shower-time-lapse I added some footage to fill out the length of the song "Buddha Wears Headphones" by the band Life Audience . If you'd like to skip forward to the meteor shower, go to 2:19 in the video. Used with the band's permission, the music track is from their album Waves and Particles, available on iTunes: Buddah Wears Headphones (song):  itunes.apple.com/us/album/budda-wears-headphones/id368017390?i=368017721&uo=4&at=10ldnC Waves and Particles (album):  itunes.apple.com/us/album/waves-particels-finest-lounge/id371870059?uo=4&at=10ldnC #meteorshower #Orionid #astronomy #science #news Vimeo  Vimeo  http://vimeo.com/jeffsullivan/orionid-meteor-shower-time-lapse

Export Your Past Google+ Posts To Tumblr (via WordPress)

Export Your Past Google+ Posts To Tumblr (via WordPress) Want to add your Google+ and/or WordPress content to your Tumblr blog?  I've been using a WordPress plug-in Google+Blog by Daniel Treadwell to send my G+ posts with comments over to WordPress.   Yesterday I went a step further to export a few trail WordPress posts, including many from G+, over to Tumblr.  Here's an example from the free trial: http://jeffsullivan.tumblr.com/post/62759363210/sunrise-moon-set-by-mt-whitney The tool I used for the WordPress to Tumblr import is Import2 for Tumblr available at www.import2.com/tumblr/ .  If I decide to complete the transfer beyond the 10 trial posts, the pricing is $12 for up to 100 posts, $24 for up to 250 posts, $49 for up to 1000. While this seems to be a one-time transfer, without the update functionality that Google+Blog provides for WordPress, at least my blogs will be "caught up" at one point in time, my Tumblr blog will be off to a running start with content,

Copy Google+ Posts to WordPress Using Google+Blog

Copy Google+ Posts to WordPress Using Google+Blog We all have some friends who avoid joining *another social networking site" or assume that all social sites have privacy issues, but nearly everyone feels comfortable visiting a blog.  Blog posts can also contain more photos and can implement new features, and you can also consolidate content from multiple sites onto a blog, to have it be your "one stop shop" for all of your posts and content.   If you have a WordPress blog posted on your own URL, the Google+Blog plug-in for WordPress can keep your G+ content flowing to your blog daily, and update the blog entries as you receive comments and other activity.  I migrated my old Blogger blog posts there as well, so now a healthy percentage of what I've posted in recent years is in one place. Next I'm trying migrating the G+ and Blogger posts consolidated on WordPress posts over to Tumblr.  More on that in the next post... Originally shared by Jeff Sullivan Useful Goo

Using Twitter to Share Photos From Various Sites

Using Twitter to Share Photos From Various Sites Twitter has updated their rendering of Twitter posts embedded in blogs, to improve the presentation of photos.  Twitter is known for being a major social media network for the cable and broadcast television industry, and I've had good success seeing some of my more interesting videos posted to YouTube go viral with the help of people tweeting about them.  So I decided to try the embedding Twitter shares of photo content posted to various photo sharing or social media sites. In these two blog posts you can see examples of embedded Twitter posts of Flickr, Tumblr, 500px, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Vimeo content, on both Blogger and WordPress blogs:  http://activesole.blogspot.com/2013/10/how-does-twitter-integrate-with-photo_1.html http://www.jeffsullivanphotography.com/blog/2013/10/01/how-does-twitter-integrate-with-photo-sharing-and-social-media-networks/
