High Sierra Sunset Reflection

Image
High Sierra Sunset Reflection This is later in the evening last week when I consulted the SkyFire sunset forecast in The Photographer's Ephemeris (TPE) app and followed its advice to some nice sunset conditions. I have room in several workshops this year that may visit this spot: http://www.jeffsullivanphotography.com/blog/eastern-sierra-fall-colors-photo-workshops/ Jeff Sullivan Photography  #sierranevada   #photographyworkshops   #landscapephotography

Golden Trout Wilderness Sunrise Reflection

Image
Golden Trout Wilderness Sunrise Reflection This was captured at dawn at Muir Lake in the Golden Trout Wilderness in the Southern Sierra. The most intense summer storm on record for Southern California was on its way that night, and the clouds in advance of it provided a great light show as the first light of the rising sun struck the surrounding peaks. This was a 6+ mile hike from the Horseshoe Meadows trailhead, mostly around 10,000 feet in elevation. The rain started before sunset, and didn't let up until 11am the following day. With water soaking in through the tent floor and more rain or snow in the forecast, it was time to get out ASAP before the next wave of the deluge struck! (And yes, I did catch several golden trout before the storm arrived!) www.JeffSullivanPhotography.com #landscapephotography #SierraNevada Ebackpacking #EasternSierra

Found On The Trail

Image
Found On The Trail A very colorful toad encountered on a hike on Ebbetts Pass yesterday.  This image was captured using manual exposure, saved in RAW DNG format, then adjusted using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom mobile on Android.  #closeup    #wildlife #photograph #lgg4 #outdoors #hiking #sierranevada #california www.MyPhotoGuides.com

Fourth Lake Reflection

Image
Fourth Lake Reflection There's a basin with about a dozen lakes in it up Big Pine Creek.  About halfway through someone apparently got tired of naming them, so this is Fourth Lake.  The pines here aren't particularly big, but the creek was probably named for tall Ponderosa pines downstream. California's High Sierra

Image
California's High Sierra I've re-processed some old images for my book, and discovered a few new photos when I revisited the folders they were in.  I'm starting a High Sierra album here on G+:  https://plus.google.com/photos/107459220492917008623/albums/6124663913157618305 #SierraNevada    #HighSierra   #Canon   #landscapephotography   www.MyPhotoGuides.com
