Night Images
A new image for my Night Photos album, plus a few of my favorites below for my new contacts.

"You may be a little cold some nights, on mountain tops above the timber-line, but you will see the stars, and by and by you can sleep enough in your town bed, or at least in your grave." - John Muir

Update: Oops, I forgot to include a link to my blog post on creating Milky Way images:

  5. These are great. I'm getting up early in the morning (4:30) & trying night shots. Any tips for a newbie? I already dusted off the tripod & loaded into the car :)

  6. You don't get much sleep, do you? :) Your photography is like nothing I've ever seen before. Really just... stunning, and they put the whole world in perspective.

Don Hajicek Sleep? This is one of my favorite quotes:
"You may be a little cold some nights, on mountain tops above the timber-line, but you will see the stars, and by and by you can sleep enough in your town bed, or at least in your grave." - John Muir
(In fact, I'll add it to this post!)
I found myself in a hospital emergency room a couple of years ago. Today it seems prudent to be as productive as possible during those precious moments that I remain alive. My current project is a guide book to California Landscapes (from Yosemite south) for the excellent series started by Laurent Martres, so I'm living in the Eastern Sierra, spending all my days either shooting or writing (shooting at Burning Man for a few days was my vacation this year). It's hectic, but I love it!
