Oldest Life on Planet Earth

Oldest Life on Planet Earth
A shot from California's Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest last Thursday night. These trees grow very slowly in harsh conditions at 9,000-11,000+ feet in elevation.

The oldest one discovered so far is over 4600 years in age! That tree was alive when the Great Pyramid of Giza was being built. The exact identity and location of that tree is a closely guarded secret, to prevent vandals from damaging or killing it.

Tree Tuesday, curated by Christina Lawrie.
