Fourth Lake Reflection

Fourth Lake Reflection
There's a basin with about a dozen lakes in it up Big Pine Creek.  About halfway through someone apparently got tired of naming them, so this is Fourth Lake.  The pines here aren't particularly big, but the creek was probably named for tall Ponderosa pines downstream. I've starting a High Sierra album here on G+: https://plus.google.com/photos/107459220492917008623/albums/6124663913157618305

  8. David Reiss  The red on the peaks is alpenglow from the orange light of the rising sun.  It's natural.

Thanks for the reply. I thought that was the sunrise. Here in Utah and the badlands there are peaks with that orangey color.

  11. Nitin Doshi  It was just as the light of the sun was first striking the peaks.  No flash was needed, but I did use three exposures, captured quickly using Automatic Exposure Bracketing.  I adjusted them in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5, combined them in Photomatix 5 HDR software using the Photomatix interface to Lightroom, then adjusted the resulting TIF image in Lightroom again.
