I love that country, there's abandoned mine equipment everywhere. Considering it is on the East side of the Sierra, I've always found it amazing that so much heavy machinery was hauled over the passes, some manufactured on the East Coast.
Jim Harrington Yes, ages ago. I grew up watching Carl Yastrzemski on the Red Sox and Bobby Orr on the Boston Bruins. As kids we'd shovel snow off of the ice on nearby ponds to play hockey. I started skiing in New Hampshire on Cannon Mountain, where Bode Miller got his start. The original tram at Cannon was built by the same company which manufactured telephone booths, so it looked like a fat telephone booth, holding only 24 people. They packed us in like sardines.
I love the gorgeous snow on the wood!! It's my pleasure to share your amazing photo to the Landscape Photography page! Check out all the great photos there including yours!!
