My shot of a lightning storm over the Wovoka Wilderness was shot from a hilltop next to Masonic Road in the Bodie Hills, overlooking the East Walker River and the Rosaschi Ranch.

Jaw-dropping shot, Jeff Sullivan!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shirlee Severs !
ReplyDeleteFabulous Jeff Sullivan. I was just in the Eastern Sierra for the first time! Wow!!
ReplyDeletethat pic actually looks like the lightning is photoshopped in :O ( http://regentsprep.org/regents/physics/phys03/alightnin/ )
ReplyDeleteElizabeth Hahn Cool! It has been ages since our paths have crossed. I'll do a book signing event in Truckee as well, Saturday 11/21 from 3:30-5 at Bookshelf, 11429 Donner Pass Rd #2, Truckee, CA 96161 (530) 582-0515.
ReplyDeleteLiz Quilty Nature can be amazing that way.
ReplyDeleteThis is real, a single image from 1000+ that I shot using an interval timer to produce this time-lapse movie: http://youtu.be/I8OEEhKlKzE?hd=1
It's not a composite. Nothing was added to or subtracted from the original photo (the lightning was not added or moved). Minor adjustment of color and contrast was performed in Adobe Lightroom.
Donna McClure Congrats! Isn't it great? What took you so long?
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine being anywhere else. :)
:-) I can't imagine living there but I loved visiting. I was in awe most of the time at the mountains, Tioga Pass, etc. Bodie Historical Park, oh my! I wish I could take my grandsons there, granddaughter also! Amazing part of California Jeff Sullivan. Wish I could make it to Sparks but not now after this trip!!!
ReplyDeleteWould you bring one of your newly published "Photograph California" books? I'll have cash on hand. Or, is there a better way to get one?
ReplyDeleteShirlee Severs Absolutely! I keep a few copies in the car.
