Sunset Dust Storm Over Mesquite Flat Dunes
Sunday evening in Death Valley National Park, California. It was interesting trying to cook dinner over a fire in that wind!

ReplyDeleteEpic light, Jeff!
ReplyDeleteSairam Sundaresan It was an amazing weekend. The air on Saturday was crystal clear, without the usual Southern California smog, after rains Friday night. On Sunday the wind came up, and a dust storm was visible over the dunes from the exit to Titus Canyon. Light rays were streaming over the Panamint Range. The sun has moved north far enough that Devil's Cornfield was perfect to line the sun up with the dunes until the sun got too low in the sky. I had to move closer to the Mesquite Flat parking lot for this shot, to be able to eliminate sunlight and sun flare from the lens.
ReplyDeleteThe clarity in this image is what impressed me first. You can see the windswept sand even from so far out! Delighted you had great conditions here :)
