Ahh, what an incredible sky, so soft and yet so dramatic :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! This is such an interesting area. I really like visiting Mono Lake when I go to Mammoth.
ReplyDeletedid you tinker with the color saturation?
ReplyDeletewonderful shot!
jerry hill: Every single photo has its colors "tinkered". A JPG photo is tinkered in the camera using pretty boring standard settings. An inspired photographer shoots in RAW, then he can tinker with the colors in the digital darkroom in a much more interesting way...
ReplyDeletejerry hill I double checked, and all of the settings which would directly affect color were set to zero, except of course white balance. It was simply one of the most spectacular sunsets I've ever experienced. I wrote a blog post recently which touches upon the myths of "perfect exposure" and accurate color in photography: http://activesole.blogspot.com/2011/08/its-time-for-digital-cameras-to-depart.html
