One Way to Interact More on Google+

One Way to Interact More on Google+

Many people have trouble getting started on Google+, but photographers and photography lovers at least have a growing list of daily themes to interact around.

For example, one of today's theme is Floral Friday, so post a flower shot, include the tag #FloralFriday, and use the new search capability at the top of the Google+ page to find #FloralFriday to discover other contributors and their shots as well.. A list of several themes per day to choose from can be found here on +Eric Leslie's blog: http://ericleslie.com/guides/daily-photography-themes-googleplus/

Join me this weekend for "Selfless Sunday", where people can take the opportunity to present someone else's excellent work at least once a week.

  1. Beautiful work here! I'll be sure to tag my floral for the day. That's a great idea of using the search.

  4. What wonderful light and color. This is really nice. The DOF is perfect and provides enough to frame the background of the shot while not taking away from the flowers. Warm and soft. Nicely done!

  5. I recently posted one, but it's not showing up here. Is there some kind of delay/approval lag time?

  6. Stephen Krieg It doesn't who up until someone searches for #flowerfriday at the top of the page. If you included the tag #flowerfriday in your post, people can find it. Of course this all works best if there is that traffic of people looking for and commenting on others' works, so once your photo is up, do the search for #flowerfriday and comment on a few images. Eventually over time people start to recognize who's participating, get to know each other, and it all becomes more social than reciprocal or structured.

  7. Thanks, Jeffrey. I'd thought it had to do with the tag in the photo, rather than in the post.

  8. This is a great idea, Jeffrey, thanks for posting about it. I've got my favorite themes saved for each day of the week.

  9. For just this one photo I tried putting the #floralfriday tag with the post, in the caption under the photo, and as an actual tag associated with the photo, just to see if any or all of that helps it get found. You never know with search engines...
