It was a Photographer Weekend in Yosemite
On this morning on the Merced River I met Brian Rueb with an Aperture Academy workshop, Ken Hornbrook and the Pasadena Photochromers, and I saw a third group which I later learned was Michael Frye with a few customers. I was shooting with Lori Hibbett and Eric Leslie, and the night before at the Yosemite Renaissance 27 reception we met Michael and his wife Claudia Frye, David Hoffman and Charlotte Hoffman, Franka M. Gabler, and I started lowing track of names at that point, but Penny Otwell was there and apparently I just missed William Neill (I was too busy shooting the Jupiter -Venus - Moon convergence to arrive earlier... priorities!). It was great seeing and meeting you all!

wow, so beautiful , great reflection, thanks for sharing with Mirror Monday
ReplyDeleteVery gorgeous, great reflection!
ReplyDeleteHello Jeffrey -- sorry I did not get to say hello at the Yosemite Renaissance reception. Guess I was in the "painter's corner" -- Your work is outstanding!
ReplyDeletehey it was great to run into you again!
ReplyDeleteThanks Penny Otwell, so are your paintings! I'm embarrassed to admit that I came across the Yosemite Renaissance show entirely by accident... Eric knew the reception was that night, so we went over to check it out. It was great to see Yosemite depicted in so many ways. There are probably a lot of avid Yosemite visitors like me who haven't been aware of Yosemite Renaissance in the past, but it deserves more visibility. With the growing connectedness of people through social media, both submissions and attendance should grow steadily.
ReplyDeleteBrian Rueb You too... let's make it Iceland next time! : )
ReplyDeleteMore ultra-wide jealously from me. I really appreciate the tour you and Lori gave me. I was much more productive had I been on my own. I will do my best to attend your future photowalks.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture, especially with the reflection!
ReplyDeleteThanks Eric Leslie, it was a pleasure meeting and shooting with you! Hopefully I'll have some photowalks worked out shortly.
ReplyDeleteReally a beautiful and clean image!
ReplyDeleteJeffrey Sullivan - It was great meeting you and Eric Leslie at the reception, and seeing Lori Hibbett and Franka M. Gabler again, as well as old friends David Hoffman, Charlotte Hoffman, Penny Otwell, William Neill, and many others who are not, sad to say, on Google+. Glad that Eric told you about the reception - it's always great to connect in person with people I've met here. I hope to see you again soon - May perhaps?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend of shooting and networking. Beautiful image, what a perfect reflection. My recent post was from just to the left and downstream a few yards. I like this angle, too bad Yosemite falls was not fuller. Looks like the spring runoff is going to be short, with a dry summer!
ReplyDeleteHi Folks, I enjoyed meeting some new people like Greg Russel @alpenglowimages, Kirk Keeler who is on FB and works at The Ansel Adams Gallery, and old friends like Michael Frye and Claudia, Penny Otwell , David Hoffman . However, I'm bummed that I missed meeting so many others, esp the G+ folks. Next time!
ReplyDeleteIt was great fun seeing all our friends, old and new! The only problem was that our time together was too short.
ReplyDeleteBTW, William Neill, Char and I were discussing our show favorites on the drive home. One at the top of my list was your Cascade Creek image. One at the top of hers was the aspen blur image. It seems that our marriage would be less contentious if you only had one image in the show from now on. Just so you know...
