Death Valley Workshop coming this Winter!
There are three main areas a workshop can help photographers become more productive and successful: deep location knowledge and guidance, shooting technique, and post-processing technique. Your post-processing approach determines a large part of your success, and it can determine your approach to shooting (which encompasses far more than just exposure), so post-processing is critical to consider up front. If you'd like to practice better photography in Death Valley National Park, consider my workshop March 13 - 16, 2013!

The annual Geminid meteor shower is coming up next week! It's one of the most active meteor showers of the year, often delivering more meteors per hour than the better-known Perseid meteor shower. The peak viewing hours are midnight to dawn the mornings of the 13th and 14th, but the shower has a broad peak so the nights around those dates could be good too. I'll try to capture enough photos to make another time-lapse video of course.
