Moon Over half Dome
This is an older photo of the moon over Yosemite's Half Dome that I just re-processed in Adobe Lightroom 5, Photomatix 5, and converted to black and white in onOne Perfect Effects 8.

  3. Beautiful shot Jeff. I thought at first that you were sharing an Ansel Adams image!  (;

    I drove through Yosemite for the first time in Sept~Oct 2010, but only had a Sony point-and-shoot then. I was discovering the panoramic process then. >

  4. Ajay Sinha  No, he had a similar shot but the rock face on the right, Washington Column, was closer to Half Dome.  The Native Americans who originally used the valley helped keep the meadows clear with fire.  Apparently Ansel shot here soon enough after a fire had helped keep the trees back from Ahwanee Meadow.  Today the trees alongside some meadows in Yosemite Valley have had 100+ years to grow, and the composition used by Ansel Adams is no longer available due to trees growing in the way.

  5. Mark Seibold  Like many of Ansel Adams' original compositions, the passage of time has made the composition in his Moon Over Half Dome image impossible to replicate.  That's probably a good thing.
